I completed Aveda's 1,500 hours Cosmetology program - San Antonio, TX campus. You wonder how long is that? It's one year every Wed thru Sat 9am-5pm didactic and practical.
The one year of receiving top-notch mentorship and providing cut and color services at Lifetime Athletics LifeSpa at the San Antonio 281 location.
Truth be told, I always wanted my second career to be an esthetician from my grandmothers influence of starting a facial regimen at 14 years old.
Then, sadly one of my most favorite people in the world no longer did her makeup, lowlights, nails...I thought maybe when you get old you just don't care anymore. WRONG, when she passed, I realized she just didn't have anyone to take her or to do it for her. So, with my problem-solving mindset I decided to go to Cosmetology school, and I'd still be able to do facials.
PSA: The cosmetology program is hard. I thought it wouldn't be hard at all. BLAH. So, Licensed Cosmetologist is licensed to cut hair, color, foil, perm, wax, natural and artificial nails, facials, and lashes. The written exam and practical exam was a significantly stressful experience.
